Tooth Fairy Pt 2

We are trying again with the Tooth Fairy. I gave Sophia all of her stuff back including her tooth for the Tooth Fairy. She showed me everything again. I asked her if she thought the Tooth Fairy would show up tonight as I didn't think she was on the agenda for the evening as it was a day late. She said, "Yes.." Of course I had to plant it in her brain that she might not show up. I said, "What then?" She said, "Well, I will be mad." Then I asked if I should check if the Tooth Fairy came in the middle of the night and she said, "Okay." I then asked if I should just pretend to be the Tooth Fairy and leave a dollar or keep it real? At first she said yes leave a dollar then she thought about it and said, "No, keep it real mom." I asked her if she thought the Tooth Fairy wore a tutu and she said, "Yeah!" (duh!) "What color?" I asked. She says,"Pink, of course! And it is a football player - I saw the movie!" Thank you Hollywood and Dwayne Johnson for keeping the magic alive!

The Tooth Fairy

Sophia lost her third tooth yesterday. She prepared a letter, drew a picture of the tooth fairy with her sisters - Little, Medium and Large Fairy and also gave her a princess button/pin. Well, I was "discovered" playing the role of the tooth fairy as she woke up last night but pretended to sleep. This morning, I was grilled/drilled about being the tooth fairy. I told her I went to check and she hadn't come yet so I helped her out. She gave me back my dollar, demanded all her stuff back and we are trying again tonight. She said, "I saw her foot steps, you should have waited." I love her!

Introductions Please...

My name is Angie and we have a daughter Sophia, 7 years old, who is a total handful..I have been documenting stories for years about her antics and finally have decided to put them in a blog. I get stopped all the time by people who tell me they go on FB just to see what she has been up to lately. I hope you enjoy them as much as everyone else does. :)

Did that REALLY happen?

Sophia loves our puppy Gizmo so much which is wonderful as she has been terrified of animals up until we got him. We have been letting him sleep at the foot of our bed for the past few nights because he has been barking at bedtime. Sophia wanted him to sleep with her last night so we pushed her bed to the wall so he wouldn't be kicked out accidentally as she is a rough sleeper and got them both to bed. 30 minutes later he is barking because it is early for him and he wasn't ready for bed. So of course this wakes her up and she brings him downstairs. I tell her "I will bring him up when everyone is ready for bed that way he won't bark if he hears us downstairs. I pinkie promise." So it is time for bed and Gizmo is passed out under the coffee table. Since he is so asleep, I put him in his crate and go to bed. I want him sleeping in his crate really. Not everyone's bed. At 1:15 am, Sophia storms in my bedroom wakes us up yelling, "YOU DIDN'T PUT GIZMO IN MY BED!! AND YOU PINKIE PROMISED!!!!" I don't remember what I said or how I got her back to bed but she got there without the dog. I asked Kevin if he remembered that and he said.."That really happened?? I thought I dreamed that.." More like nightmare..Needless to say, I am a little wiped out today. Thank you Sophia..

Corn in the Cop

Sophia was begging me to make 'Corn in the Cop' tonight. She asked Steven if he could eat that and then she gives a demonstration of munching on corn on the cob  She said, "If you can't, mom will cut the corn off the cop for you." :) Poor Cop..

Goat Chocolate

Sophia asked me if she could have some Goat Chocolate. Of course there was a confused expression on my face then she showed me a cup of Jello MOUSSE that she wanted..hahaha!! Moose/Goat..it's all the same right??"

Yes, No..Maybe so..

On the way to Steven's band concert, Sophia informed me it was "Yes Day". Then she starts asking questions. "Can we go out to eat Mexican food for dinner?" No, "Can we stop on the way home and get me some candy?" No, then she says, "This isn't working out. Tomorrow is "No Day" and THAT is when you are SUPPOSED to say no."

Money, money, money..

Sophia asked me this weekend when we were going to win the Lottery. We don't play the lottery so I am not sure how she got that in her head. She wants to spend some money I think...

We aren't in Kansas!

It is going to be an interesting night. Tornado alarms, hail, severe thunderstorms..oh my! I just need a little dog, pale blue checked outfit, and some ruby red shoes. Sophia is turning into Steve Martin from the Jerk.."All I need is this blanket. All I need is this blanket and this stuffed animal...All I need is.." You get the picture. Now her teddy bear is screaming for his life..yep..gonna be a long night..

The Voice..sort of

Sophia has been pretending she is on the Voice when she gets in the shower. She does her interview with Carson Daly and speaks to the camera about her aspirations. Then she starts singing in the shower. Then you hear her say.."BAM!..Christina turns around"..and she starts belting her song out more. "BAM!..Cee-Lo turns around"..more hard core singing, "BAM!..Adam turns around" and so on until the "grey one..(Blake) turns around".. She converses with them all but ultimately chooses Christina. She even does the exit interview about how she felt during the performance. Now..if only she could sing...;)

Goodnight - no really..GOODNIGHT!

I am going to preface this with the statement that I love my children so much. Both of my kids have no concept of 'mom needs her sleep'. Steven wakes me up at 1:45 am telling me he got a voicemail that was just then showing up on his phone about a job interview. (he has been looking for a job for awhile) I am excited but exhausted..and WHY on earth are you awake looking at your phone at that hour?! 

At 4:30 am, Sophia shows up telling me her stuffed animals are trying to push her out of the bed and she got a bloody lip. REALLY!? Love those children..really, I do.  -.-

Winnie in the Pooh?

Sophia got some markers from a classmate today that had Winnie the Pooh wrapping on them. She removed the wrappers so they were plain. I asked her why and she said, "I don't like Winnie and the Pooh". I said "It is Winnie the Pooh" and she said, "Well, I don't like Winnie in the Pooh". LOL! nevermind..I am sure Winnie doesn't like being in the Pooh either..

1st Tooth, Best Tooth

Sophia FINALLY lost her first tooth! It took forever to convince her to pull it out. It has been loose for weeks. She said she didn't want to lose her sweet tooth. Such a cutie pie! No such luck - that sweet tooth wasn't the only one apparently. Chocolate and sugar are 2 of the 4 food groups right??

Pumpkin Patch Unbirthday..

Sophia's class went to the pumpkin patch right before Halloween. I was smart enough to go along and NOT be a chaperone. She told me later that she wanted to have her birthday party there. I told her that her birthday was in April and the pumpkin patch isn't open in April. She says "I want to change my Birthday to October. Who picked APRIL?"

It's not me..it's you..

·       Sophia has been getting on my nerves ALL day..it has not been a good day for us. I told my husband, Kevin that she was driving me crazy today. Then I said, I am not sure if it is me with a low tolerance or if it is her just being annoying. She heard me say that and said.."It's you." LOL

Pancakes and a little Imagination

·         Sophia is at it again. We went to IHOP for dinner (don't say it) and she announces to us and those around us that her parents left her there and could she please come home with us. As we choke on our pancakes and try not be freaked out or laugh, we look at her sweet serious face and finally ask - what are you parent's names? She says Otto and Chris. And Angel - apparently she has 3 parents. Thank goodness the people around us saw us come in with her.

Never a Dull Moment..even in Church

·         Sophia was drawing on the program at church today. She had circles all around Jesus who was on the cover. I asked what they were, thinking she was making him glow or something majestic possibly... She said "Those are crackers - so he can have a snack." LOL!
